Karen was born on August 25, 1946 to Orville & Iva Peterson at Tacoma, WA. Karen graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in 1964. In 1972 she moved to Yakima, WA where she then became a Pharmacy Technician for Yakima Regional Hospital, retiring in 2003 after 30 years. Karen married Michael Ostrander in Yakima on March 1, 1975. In 2006 Michael & Karen moved to the Davenport area to build their forever home near Fort Spokane. Karen was preceded in death by her parents Orville & Iva and her step-father Floyd Cowan.She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael Ostrander, and sisters, Wendy (Rick) Killeen and Dorothy (Dan) Odekirk.Memorials may be made in Karen’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 920 N. Washington St. # 200, Spokane, WA 99201.A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.Strate Funeral Home is caring for the Ostrander family.
